ASSISTANCE IN THE CLASSROOM
SBH Queensland's role in student education mainly involves educating school staff about spina bifida and hydrocephalus and strategies to overcome some of the problems. There can be many of these, but the big three are mobility, continence and learning.
Issues of physical access for children with mobility problems to all school areas not just the classroom are most important.
SBH Queensland Education Adviser for early childhood, Karen, provides some one-on-one assistance to a young student with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
