SBH Queensland

Our Supporters

Government funding

SBH Queensland receives 80% of its funding from 3 government sources. Our major funder is the Australian government through its Non-School Organisations, Commonwealth Targeted Programs. Funding for children is also received from Education Queensland. SBH Queensland receives funds from both of these organisations to support children's education. Disability Services Queensland funds a small program which supports adults.

Community support

SBH Queensland relies on the support of many generous people and businesses. Two of our most noteworthy supporters are the Southern Cross Association  http://www.southern-cross-association.org.au/ and Bartercard http://www.bartercard.com/au/

The Southern Cross Association began their support of SBH Queensland with a 5 day poker run through Central Queensland in 1998. The Poker Run has grown steadily each year and in 2006, more than $60 000 was raised and donated to SBH Queensland. The run is held every year in the first week of September, Spina Bifida Awareness Week. Details of the run and other fund raising activities appear on the Southern Cross Association website.

Bartercard also have been great sponsors of SBH Queensland for many years. Apart from providing direct donations and sponsorships, they have given SBH Queensland the support to run fund raising auctions at their many trade shows and events.

SBH Queensland receives many other donations both large and small from many people and businesses. The continuing support of these people gives SBH Queensland the ability to provide assistance to families and adults who would otherwise miss out.

On behalf of all who benefit from their support we would like to give our sincerest thanks.

Some of the ways that you can help the work of SBH Queensland are by making a donation, becoming a member or leaving a bequest to the association in your will.
